In the fall of 2008, Rob Evans, who is one of Dave’s live recording engineers, brought us a Matchless DC-5 combo amp that took a nasty fall from a truck and suffered extensive internal and external damage. Wires and transformers and all sorts of components were damaged as a result of the fall. The amp is used by Dave for live concerts as well as studio work and Rob asked if we could revive it. With a lot of parts and labor, we were able to do so and returned it in tip-top shape. We asked for a signed color photo for our wall of fame, but they did not have any at the time of repair, so Dave signed an interview in The Rolling Stone and sent it in to us. We framed it and up it went on the wall. |
